String Types We Carry

Every major string construction, in-stock and ready to go on the stringer today:

  • Multifilament, soft, arm-friendly, closest feel to natural gut in a synthetic package.
  • Synthetic Gut, reliable, all-around string for recreational players who want balanced feel.
  • Polyester, stiff, durable, spin-friendly; the choice of tour players and big string breakers.
  • Co-Polyester, softer than straight poly with most of the spin and control benefits.
  • Natural Gut, premium feel and power; unmatched comfort for players with arm issues.

String Gauges (Thickness)

We stock every common gauge so your stringer can dial in the exact balance of comfort, spin, and durability:

  • 15L, thickest, most durable, for heavy string breakers.
  • 16g, the standard all-around gauge.
  • 16L, slightly thinner, more feel without giving up durability.
  • 17g, thin, more spin and pocketing feel, a favorite for tournament players.
  • 18g, thinnest, maximum power and comfort; shorter lifespan.

Not sure what you need? Our stringers will ask about your arm, your current setup, how often you break strings, and how much spin you generate, then recommend a setup that fits your game.

Racket Customization & Matching

The secret of every tour player: their rackets are matched. We offer the same service, $25 per racket plus materials.

Balance Point

Shift weight toward the head or handle to match your favorite frame. A few millimeters changes how a racket plays.

Swing Weight

We measure and adjust swing weight so multiple frames feel identical through contact, no more "second racket" surprises.

Static Weight

Match the raw weight of each racket to within a gram using lead tape and tungsten tape, the exact materials used on tour.

What Customization Does For Your Game

If you own more than one racket of the same model, there's a good chance they don't feel the same. Manufacturing tolerances are wider than most players realize, and a 10-gram or 15-point swing-weight difference is very noticeable during a long match.

At Forever Tennis we measure each racket on a swing-weight machine and a precision scale, then apply lead tape and tungsten tape in the right locations to bring every frame into spec. The result: your backup racket feels exactly like your favorite.

Customization pairs perfectly with stringing, drop off the whole stable, pick up a matched set the next day.

Common Questions

How fast can you string my racket?

Our standard turnaround is 24 hours, guaranteed. Need it sooner? Our Rush service finishes your stringing within an hour for a $20 upcharge, perfect if you're heading to a match or tournament the same day.

How often should I restring?

The old rule of thumb: restring as many times per year as you play per week. A 3x/week player should restring roughly every 4 months. Polyester strings lose tension and elasticity long before they break, if your racket feels dead, it's probably time.

What tension should I use?

Most recreational players live between 48–58 lbs. Polyester is usually strung 4–6 lbs lower than synthetic gut. Our techs will ask about your game (power, control, arm health) and recommend a range to test, then log it for next time.

Do you string squash, badminton, and racquetball rackets?

Yes. Squash is $29 labor. Badminton and racquetball, which require thinner strings, much lower tensions (for badminton), and specialty techniques, are $34 labor. All plus string.

Can you match my rackets?

Absolutely. Racket customization is $25 per racket plus materials (lead tape and tungsten tape). We match static weight, balance point, and swing weight so every frame in your bag plays like your favorite.

Can I bring my own string?

Yes, bringing your own string reduces the cost to just labor. We'll still inspect it for damage and let you know if it's not a good match for your frame before stringing.
