How We Help You Choose

Picking a tennis racket is personal. Head size, swing weight, string pattern, stiffness, and grip size all matter, and the wrong frame can hold a player back for years. Our staff plays the game and has fit thousands of customers, so we ask the right questions:

  • What's your level and how often do you play?
  • Do you have any arm or shoulder issues we should design around?
  • What's your style, flat hitter, big topspin, all-courter, doubles specialist?
  • What did you love (or hate) about your last racket?

Then we hand you 2–4 frames to demo on court. The right racket usually announces itself within a single hitting session.

Frames for Every Player

From the player's racket strung at 55 lbs of poly to the lightweight, oversized recreational frame for the social Saturday doubles game, we stock a complete range. We never push the most expensive option, we recommend the right one.

What to Look For

  • Head size, 95–98 sq in for control, 100–110 sq in for power and forgiveness.
  • Weight, 11.0+ oz strung for advanced players, 10.0–10.8 oz for intermediates, 9–10 oz for beginners.
  • String pattern, open (16x19) for spin, dense (18x20) for flat-hitting control.
  • Stiffness, softer flex (RA 60–63) is friendlier on the arm; stiffer (RA 67+) gives raw power.
  • Grip size, measure with the index-finger test. We size on the spot.

Performance vs. Recreational Junior Rackets

We carry both. Performance junior rackets are the same frames the next generation of tour players are growing up on, proper weight distribution, real grip shapes, and balanced enough to develop technique. Recreational junior rackets are lighter and more forgiving, perfect for kids just discovering the sport, summer camp, or backyard rallies with mom and dad.

What Our Trained Staff Does for Your Family

Bring your son or daughter in. We measure them, hand them a few options, and watch them swing. Within minutes we know whether they need a 23" or a 25", whether they're ready for performance, and which model from Babolat, Wilson, Head or Yonex is going to feel right. No upsell, kids grow fast and we'd rather see you back next year than oversell you today.

Tennis Racket Questions

How do I know which racket size my child needs?

We size by height first, then age. A 7-year-old who's tall for their age may need a 25" before a shorter friend the same age. Bring them in, we'll measure, hand them a few options, and watch them swing. The right size becomes obvious within minutes.

What's the difference between a $100 racket and a $250 racket?

Mostly construction quality, materials (graphite layups, dampening tech), and fit and finish. The expensive frame isn't always the better frame for you, that's why we have demos. The right $100 racket can outperform the wrong $250 one in your hand.

Should I match my partner's racket if we play doubles together?

Not necessarily. Pick the racket that matches your game. Doubles partners with very different rackets win all the time, what matters is being comfortable with your own.

Can I bring my old racket in for a comparison?

Please do, it's the most useful information we can have. We'll feel the weight, check the head size and stiffness, and use it as a starting point to recommend frames that build on what you already like.
